About Us

Since 2019, The Outfall has explored the fascinating backstories of our built world: the infrastructure, systems, and schemes that shape how we live. While our stories often begin in the American South, they speak to bigger questions about ambition, risk, and the unseen forces that hold modern life together.

We look for stories inside the pipes, treatment plants, dams, canals, and hidden systems most people walk past without a second thought. Our goal is simple: to leave you seeing the world a little differently than when you started.

The Outfall is a labor of love. We make the show because these are the stories we would tell one another even without a microphone, and because we want to honor the people who build, maintain, and protect the infrastructure we all depend on.

Now in our eighth season, The Outfall is made by a small team with full-time jobs, supportive families, and a strange, stubborn love for this kind of story. Our new season drops in June. You can explore all seven seasons on a large map at explore.outfall.live.

We love feedback. If you have a story idea, want to be on the show, or just want to say something kind, we genuinely want to hear from you. And if you love what you hear, the best thing you can do is tell someone else. We also encourage you to leave a review on Apple Podcasts.

Thank you to every guest, friend, and listener who has kept The Outfall going.
